So, you want a simple "yes" or "no," and you don't know how to find it. My luck answering these questions with Tarot has been spotty at best. I know this is a Tarot blog, so I will give you a few links for answering these questions with Tarot. For questions regarding romantic love, try this. For other questions, give this a whirl. Me, I'll stick to two methods that work best for me -- the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Cards (go ahead and laugh) and my trusty pendulum.
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Cards
These are so campy and the name makes me giggle, but they really do give a pretty accurate "Yes" or "No." And all you have to do is count! I stumbled on these cards a few months ago, and bought them to try.
Here's the trick. Take out the two extra Jokers (Fools) and the two court cards (that indicate whether the reading is for a male or a female). Shuffle the deck with the single Joker in the mix. Cut the cards, put them back together, and start counting out the cards. If the Joker is in an even position, the answer is "yes." Odd means "no." Some readers believe the value indicates how long it will be before the event comes to pass. I haven't tested that, so try that out yourself.
I rely on this a lot. You've heard me talk about my method for reading, how the pendulum takes my ego out of the way. It does the same for answering these questions. Some might say I'm a hoarder, but I prefer to think I collect pendulums. I buy mine in person. I ask the person in the store to hand me anything that looks interesting. I ask it questions I know the answers to. And I only choose the ones that move clockwise for "yes," and counter-clockwise for "no." A friend bought one online and thought she wasn't using it right, because it moved counter-clockwise for "yes," and clockwise for "no." It worked fine. The point is, it was consistent. So, make your choice, choose a pendulum, and then ask it if it wants to go home with you (check the price first).
I store mine in a window, so they can absorb the moonlight. I also switch them out and let them recharge. This is me. If you think that's hooey, I'm fine with that. If you want to swing yours through sage smoke or bury it in the ground to cleanse them, do it. They are tools and you should care for them in a way that means something to you.
A pendulum is a good tool for divination (like I use it) and for energy work. I have even used mine to energetically scrub my house. In any case, don't assume you can't use one simply because it doesn't move for you. It's like that scene in Harry Potter, where he buys his first wand. This tool reacts to your energy. Choose it wisely and it will feel like an extension of your own hand.
I suppose you could also just wait for this song to come on the radio...
Blessings on your journey!
