The Ace of Cups
What a lovely card for us all for the week ahead. Aces in the tarot bring fresh starts and new beginnings. They are the essence of the suit and this suit is Cups (hearts in a playing card deck!)’Cups’ represent emotions in the Tarot and this ace is associated with new beginnings or surges of love and compassion and happiness.
In my wonderful Rohrig deck this card is so colourful and exudes energy and primal delight and joy. It is a truly beautiful card to look at. It encapsulates natural beauty and contentment. If you look at the female, not only is she naked but is exuberant and healthy. She is not stick thin. I see this as a time to appreciate the strength of our bodies: to fall in love with ourselves again and to basically look outward instead of inward. So those of you who may be going on holiday-wear your bikini with pride. If you are at home and are self-conscious of a body part then just enjoy it for what it does for you rather than how it looks. I sadly remember my mum who was self-conscious about her arms in the summer and always wore long sleeves-don’t be like that- arms out for coolness ladies!
Some of you may find love this week. (How about a wee ritual for Tuesday’s new moon?) Some of you may see your relationship move to the next level e.g. engagement or marriage or commitment through children. It’s onwards and upwards with this card.
Sometimes this card can be too much if you are menopausal or premenstrual as it enhances and enlarges hormonal emotions. You may find yourself weepy or maudlin. But accept this and work with the best qualities of this influence.
In love: this may bring the connection that leads to new love or enhance and be pivotal in old love becoming stronger or fresher.
In work: this influence will bring enthusiasm and enjoyment and compassion if you are in a hard care giving job.
In finances: it can lead to a sense of ‘life is too short to worry too much’ so just rein it in if needs be.
In health it brings more energy, more passion for health and compassion and understanding for ourselves. Sometimes the negative side can be mood swings and the need to watch out for heart and circulation. It is also a fertility card and can represent the womb!
So...enjoy the week ahead. Enjoy love, happiness, friendship and joy!
