I find this one interesting in the Rohrig deck because it has a very modern depiction of the old Chariot card. It has a Formula 1 racing car and helmet on it. I watched a movie called Rush last night about Formula 1 and was so impressed by the control and discipline of Nikki Lauda in it. I had watched it really because I liked James Hunt the British racing driver. Yet although Nikki Lauda came over as arrogant and persistent at first, he really came out the winner for his sense of commitment and self-belief. In the seventies, I was more drawn to the blonde hair and good time boy image of James Hunt. Both were world champions and both were sworn rivals who eventually saw that both needed the other to be there best.
Look at this card in my Rohrig deck. The driver’s helmet has the Universe reflected in it. And the driver is fully in control of his own car. The car is equipped for speed and very small movements or fine control are needed to drive it successfully and also safely. This week, YOU are the Driver of your OWN life! Whatever decisions you make, small adjustments or major sprints for your goal…the control is YOURS! So don’t be afraid. Think logically and instinctively. Be strong willed but do not take silly risks. Travel your own way round the circuit of life and realise that sometimes you win and sometimes you can be second or third. But taking part and being the best you can be is all that really matters. Be competitive without being in people’s faces.
In the movie Rush, Nikki Lauda is forced to race in dangerous bad weather by the majority. His instinct tells him not to but he over rides it. In that race he is terribly burned. He went against his intuition and better judgement and the result was horrific. So how well do you listen to your inner judgement? If something is niggling at you this week, take control and do something about it. If your opinion is different from others but feels right to you, then so be it. Drive your own race!
The essence of the Chariot card is about self-control, discipline and self-belief. It is about putting in the work and believing in the vision you have. It is about strength and determination. It will help you immensely this week.
In work: take control of situations that seem out of hand or confused and bring a sense of order to them. Believe in your own abilities.
In health: take control of health. Do what YOU can to make your own health better.
In Love: bring relationships back into line if they have drifted or you don’t feel you have a degree of control.
In money: be determined to make money last the month and don’t be silly or take risks.
I adore this card especially in this deck. It brings the visuals of the older decks with a charioteer right bang up to date. And I thank the universe for the movie I watched last night which has given me a deeper understanding of this essence and a respect for Nikki Lauda!
