Introducing Thematic Tarot

Now You See Me

Now you see 400The closer you look, the less you'll see.

Last night I watched a fab movie called Now You See Me starring Hollywood big-hitters like Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Mark Ruffalo--as well as Isla Fisher (wife of Sacha Baron Cohen), Jesse Eisenberg (played Zuck in The Social Network) and Dave Franco (younger brother to James).

Part mega-magic show, part heist, and part secret society intrigue, Now You See Me not only features a stellar cast, snappy dialogue, astounding prestidigitation and fascinating plot, but also one  of my favorite movie props: Tarot cards.

Each of the magicians receive a mysterious Tarot card with a date, time and place on the back. When they arrive at at seemingly empty apartment at the same time, they find some clever tricks and, ultimately, an invitation that will irrevocably change their lives.

(=In case you're curious, the cards are The Lovers, Death, The Hermit and The High Priestess. The latter was hard to see/read because it was immersed in a large water tank, but Ron and I thought it was her...and further research proved us right.

Wouldn't it be great to have a deck that looks like this?

If you're interested in aquiring the above props for a pretty penny (3K of them, in fact), click here.

Fans of The Prestige and The Ilusionists will likely love this movie (I know I did!).
