I love 60s music (even though I wasn't born until 1970). Some of the music I was listening to as I formulated my Hippie Blends:

I swear, the best music was made prior to 1985...

I was born in 1960 and I agree that some of the best music came from that time. Simon & Garfunkel are my absolute favorites even today. I think a lot of the appeal is the lyrics were more meaningful to me. Knights In White Satin including the poetry at the end, is not something you would hear today. There was so much diversity at the time. You could listen to Mowtown, Moody Blues, Elvis (my mother's favorite). The Beach Boys are always the sound of summer to me. And, of course, the Beatles! I could go on and on. My advice to those younger than us is to watch YouTube. I think I'll go do that right now...

As much as I love Nirvana, I think music started to go downhill after grunge. And the downfall of Napster.
The Industrial Music Complex (😂) churns out mediocrity; everything sounds the same. Cynical, obectifying, violent and materialistic lyrics are SO lowest-common-denominator (and chakras).😝
